Last but not least the 1 hp protection is removed. Another thing that gets forcefully added is hardcore friendly fire, but just like with onslaught its like hardcore 2.0, friendly fire is even stronger. Aliens do have more health and damage than without challenge but only for 1-3 marines present, where in that case they still have health and damage as if 4 or more marines are present. Also on difficulties hard and higher, aliens are faster by 50%. What ASBI changes is it forcefully adds onslaught, and the onslaught is much bigger than default onslaught without a challenge selected. To play it you have to select it as a "challenge", you can select challenges in same screen where you change the difficulty as lobby leader So that a mod on top of Reactive Drop? Also what does higher difficulty do, increase enemy health? Decrease ammo pick ups, increase enemy county, does the AI get smarter, even with regular gameplay, I wonder what higher diff does. Hey thank you so much! It was very hard to google, if only someone made a wiki or something. this mod was integrated into a challenge in reactivedrop with a bit more changes over the last years the community made a mod called alien swarm beyond insane which also had leaderboards and stats etc. When the original alien swarm came out in 2010 the highest difficulty was insane, but the community wanted to make the game way harder as insane was not enough for them. I can stick to only playing on dedicated servers for now.īut it would be nice to join games with randoms like I'm so used to doing.Originally posted by jhheight:alien swarm beyond insane. Since getting some direction from YOJIMBO, I know I can just use the dedicated servers for all my needs (though my friends will need some convincing to go and use those instead of hosting games for me to join in the usual way). My brother who sits right next to me and connects wirelessly to the same modem to use the same broadband can join and host games just fine. I can't think of anything that has changed since last playing Alien Swarm Reactive Drop only a couple of days ago. \SteamApps\Common\.) then reinstall the game įorward ports 27000-27050 and 48somethingsomething and restart broadband hub ĭisable Firewall and Antivirus (as dangerous as that sounds) ĭe-authorize all other devices (through Steam two-factor thingy) Remove autoexec.cfg (in case console commands are causing the problem) Uninstall all subscribed Workshop items and verify integrity of game files Join a dedicated server (previously only the goegraphical closest work, I'm from UK so not many)(but now, I can join all dedicated servers.) Host for friends to join (again, didn't work, they got the error instead)(but I can connect to one of my friends!?!) I've already gone through past discussions and tried everything there to no avail:Ĭlose Steam on all other devices (only have it on one device, but I checked my browser anyway just in case I was signed into store.steampowered or anything connected to Steam, but nope) Yes, the age old issue of trying to connect to a server, getting twelve pixels through the loading bar, waiting ages, then being flung back to the main menu with the 'Connection failed after 10retries' message.
