![]() In answering why I don’t like them, I just haven’t really found the granny jokes that funny after the original Grannies episode. I apologise straight away to everyone: I don’t hate the idea of them, and I found it novel the first time around, but seeing how much people love referencing them and the possibility of another granny appearance in 3C (if the screenshots leaked for 3B and my theory as to those is correct), I wasn’t looking all that forward to it. Now, I want to preface my review by admitting that I am slightly biased here – I may or may not be the only person (on the Subreddit at least) who doesn’t enjoy the granny jokes a lot. Bluey tries to provide a sense of finding the good in everyday hardships and that life’s experiences are not that simple, but each one can be used to help us grow. Baddies are bad and goodies are always righteous and ‘save the day’. Kids shows are usually way way too black and white. She’s such an important character to the Bluey universe to help show that kids can (and will) do things that are hurtful and wrong. But Muffin more often than not is shown as a sweet, kind and fun kid that is still developing her emotional regulation. Yes, they need a character that does, just because they want to show that aspect in the series. It is absolutely unfair to characterise her solely for ability to have epic tantrums. Just like any kid that throws tantrums (that is, all of them). My simple theory is that Muffin is in no way a bad kid and that yes, she is shown at her worst at times, but she’s also lovely. I disagree with the consistent idea that Muffin is awful and that whenever she is actually pleasant that a) it is out of character for her and b) that she must be growing out of that phase. ![]() A really fun episode that (I think) kids will love.
